How do we feel about this coffee

It feels like a sweet lemonade on a patio at dusk, a chocolate popsicle in the crowd at Field Trip festival watching an encore of your favourite song and a duet featuring two of your favourite singer-songwriters.

Coffee Story
This coffee has been made in collaboration with our good friends at Arts & Crafts. Arts & Crafts is the storied Toronto-based independent record label, publisher and artist management company co-founded by Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew. The company has played a hand in the careers of many iconic artists throughout its history, including Feist, Stars, Dan Mangan, Los Campesinos!, TRST, Jean-Michel Blais, Bombay Bicycle Club and of course Broken Social Scene. This year the company celebrates its 20th anniversary! We combined our love of coffee and music to commemorate and create this blend of coffee from Brazil and Ethiopia. Plus, every package comes with a QR code, leading to a playlist of fantastic music curated by Arts & Crafts.

What's in the Blend?
50% Brazil Cachoeira da Grama
Located in São Paolo, just three miles from the border of Minas Gerais, the Fazenda Cachoeira da Grama has been in the Carvalho Dias family since 1890 and recently celebrated its 115th crop. The farm enjoys the typical characteristics of the mountainous Mogiana and Sul de Minas regions, and it's located at an altitude of 1,100-1,250 metres above sea level. Gabriel de Carvalho Dias is one of Brazil's leading agronomists. His family owns several farms bordering each other in this area. Fazenda Cachoeira da Grama has a total area of 417 hectares, with a coffee plantation area of 165 hectares. Some original Bourbon varietal trees are as much as 108 years old. The Carvalho Dias family considers social and environmental sustainability to be fundamental. The farm has a programme of planting native species of trees to maintain a better ecological balance. There is also a school, a club and an official-size soccer field for the employees and workers. There are 47 houses, all with modern facilities.

50% Ethiopia Nansebo
Nansebo is somewhat rural, mainly located within the Harenna forest, where coffee still grows wild underneath natural forest cover. Here on the edge of the Harenna forest are very high altitudes, with coffee growing at up to 2200 MASL due to the forest's protection. This leads to conditions perfect for producing high-quality Arabica coffees, with cool temperatures and especially cool nights leading to slow cherry maturation and very dense seeds. The lot itself is local landraces grown by local farmers in the Nansebo Woreda in Sidamo, Ethiopia, and they deliver their coffee cherry to the Nansebo and Bulega Kebele washing station to be fully washed and processed.

Not as good as the others we have ordered

We found it not as warm and rich, almost a little ‘stale’. We love the Detour coffees we have tried but would rank this further down the list.
