Coffee Story
Miraflores is a farm blend made up of harvests from farmers primarily in the Chito area of the Zamora Chinchipe Province in Ecuador. Cosmel Merino represents the coffee producers community in Chito, located in the extreme Southeast of Ecuador, along the Peruvian border. The farms in this area are owned by families, with 70% of them led by the male of the household and the other 30% by the female. The average size per farm is 4 acres. The blend harmoniously merges different lot characteristics to produce a markedly balanced and delicious result. The varieties include Sarchimor, Caturra, SL28, Castillo, and Catimor. Miraflores represents the powerful impact of collaboration between farmers and importers and their strong commitment to quality at origin."

This year's blend comprises three regions in southern Ecuador: Chito-Zamora Chinchipe, Morona Santiago, and Limón Indanza. It includes different coffee varieties such as Sachimor, Caturra, SL 28, Catimor, and Castillo. The majority of the blend, 96%, comes from the Chito-Zamora Chinchipe region, with contributions from various producers. The remaining 4% comprises producers from the Morona Santiago region and Limón Indanza, whose coffees stood out in sweetness, texture, and citrus-like acidity.
