DIY Cold Brew // Coffee & Tonic
Cold brew coffee can be super delicious, especially when it’s fresh. The best way to have it fresh on hand? DIY!
Drink cold brew on it’s own for a super-charged cold drink, use as an ingredient in cocktail, or dilute with tonic to make the incredibly refreshing Coffee & Tonic (trust us).
That recipe is below.
Cold Brew Concentrate
Makes 1L of delicious Cold Brew Coffee
What you’ll need:
- 90g of DETOUR Coffee (we recommend any espresso profile - see below)
- 1L of filtered cold water
- Mason Jar or Food Safe Container
Step-by-Step:
- Grind 90g of coffee on a medium setting. Similar to a pour over grind setting, or about the size of table sugar granules.
- Add the coffee to the container and fill with cold or room temperature water until full (use a container with little to no head space - oxygen is the enemy of coffee).
- Stir to wet all the grinds. Cover and place in the fridge.
- After 24 hours of brewing, pour through cheesecloth or a paper coffee filter.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
