Las Tolas Ecuador EspressoDetour Coffee
Las Tolas is an interesting producing region located in Northern Ecuador in the department of Pichincha. French agronomist—Arnaud Causse planted a couple dozen hectares of his favourite varieties here over 10 years ago because it was the only valley in the area with enough break in the clouds to provide the perfect amount of sunlight needed for coffee production. According to Arnaud, Las Tolas also had the perfect terroir for coffee with an outstanding altitude, fertile volcanic soils, and a great annual rainfall. This Caturra variety is unique with sweet florals and vanilla in the aromatics that lead to a round body and notes of butterscotch and hazelnut.
