This coffee comes to us from the Ndurutu Factory washing station in Nyeri county and is an AB lot meaning the beans will look a little smaller than AA. Ripe cherries are harvested and delivered to the Ndurutu Factory by 527 smallholder farmers (365 men and 162 women) growing between 1650-1700 MASL. Processing begins at the washing station with pulping the cherries and then sorting them by density before fermenting underwater for 24-48 hours. After fermentation, the parchment is washed clean of mucilage and is set out to dry on raised beds for 14-21 days until the coffee reaches the desired moisture content.
