Los Naranjos, Colombia EspressoDetour Coffee Roasters
A full-bodied and structured profile with rich sugar browning and slightly spice-like aromatics makes way to a syrupy texture and flavours of roasted apple, almond and caramel.
Grown on tiny slices of land by a group of quality-obsessed farmers in the hills above the humble town of San Agustin, in Huila, this coffee has been a mainstay on our single-origin menu for over 7 years. The association of coffee producers "Los Naranjos" is another example of small-parcel Colombian coffee culture at its best where the quality of each lot speaks directly to the kinship, passion, and drive of each farmer in the group. Located on the shore of the Los Naranjos River, the sharing of techniques and practices between this group of producers is one of the most important factors in the progress of this association. With an average farm size of a humble 1.5 hectares, the success of the group is absolutely contingent upon the discipline of the individual. AII coffee is hand sorted and harvested at full ripeness. Many of the members of the association have won Cup of Excellence awards for their coffees through the years.
