Coffee Story
This year's Holiday blend combines Ethiopia Dur Feres, an organic fruit-forward, naturally processed coffee from the famous Blue Hora district in the West Guji zone. And a layered and sweet, washed regional blend from Honduras called Cabanas Los Planes from the Santa Barbara region.

Ethiopia Dur Feres is a naturally processed coffee sourced by our fantastic partner importer, Catalyst, from their long-time partner Aklilu Kassa, whose family, according to legend, built "the road into Guji." The lot comprises local varieties known as Kurume Tulenge grown between 2000 and 2035 MASL by 335 registered farmers near Kellenso Mekonissa in the Blue Hora district. Deeply rooted in the area, he and his family own or support a vast network of washing stations and farms, many of which are organic certified.

Honduras Cabanas Los Planes is grown close to the town of Los Planes in the municipality of La Paz from a group of farmers cultivating coffees and contributing them to the Cabanas Rise Series. The lot is a field blend of mostly Lempira, Catuai and Pache. It is washed and dried on raised African-style beds and circulated every 30 minutes for 15 days to ensure proper drying. The Cabanas Rise Series project is an effort to support smaller producing communities in their quest to improve coffee quality by purchasing larger volumes at premium prices. The series is a joint effort between our partner importer, Collaborative Coffee and the Paz family's Beneficio San Vicente in Honduras. The goal is to help these up-and-coming farmers in the Cabanas region by providing milling & logistic services and actively working with farmers on new strategies to improve farm-level practices and cup quality.
